Int./Adv. Conditioning/Modern – permission only

Mondays 5:45pm-7:00pm

“Modern dance was born from a desire to get away from the confining structures of ballet. Early pioneers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries focused on natural movements and organic shapes – dancers and choreographers were more interested in the feeling of the dance, than the standardized ‘beauty’ of the movement. Many branches have since been born from this movement. This class will start with modern dance technique conditioning (get ready to feel the burn!) and then move to traveling combinations and choreography. With permission only, please reach out to the School to see if this class is a good fit.”

Teen Jazz/ Hip-Hop – Ages 13+

Wednesdays 3:50pm-4:50pm

“An introduction to Hip Hop and Jazz dance styles for teens. Hip Hop emerged from the 1970s, while Jazz was born even earlier in the late 19th and 20th centuries in African American communities. Both have since evolved to encompass many subgenres, and continue changing to this day! Dancers will explore rhythm, tempo, technique, vocabulary, strength and stretching in this class.”

Open Teen/Adult Conditioning/Modern – Ages 13+

“Modern dance was born from a desire to get away from the confining structures of ballet.
